Wisconsin governor vetoes abortion bill
Saturday, January 7, 2006; Posted: 10:42 a.m. EST (15:42 GMT)

MADISON, Wisconsin (AP) – – Gov. Jim Doyle on Friday vetoed a bill that would have forced doctors to tell women seeking abortions after their fifth month of pregnancy that their fetuses could suffer pain.

Doyle, a Democrat, said there is no evidence conclusively proving when a fetus can feel pain. The Republican-controlled Legislature should not be allowed to decide scientific fact, he said.

And Doyle claims to be a Catholic – yet has supported every possible pro-choice issue during his administration.

Fortunately, he is extremely vunerable in the polls. Let’s hope that Wisconsin sends him off to retirement!

Blessings,

This is ridiculous. Babies in their 23rd week are viable outside the womb, though tenuously so. Doctors can testify that a prematurely born baby feels pain. Why would it not feel pain in the womb? Do nerves seek to exist inside a woman’s womb? Do the laws of physics not apply? And furthermore, i hate the use of the word fetus by the media. If i never hear it again, it will be too soon. Only one thing in this world has a complete set of human dna, and that’s a human. If it’s in its fetal stage, that doesn’t change it’s genus or species. Still a human. Also, a woman’s body has to secrete a special hormone to keep her own body from attacking it, since without this hormone, her body would recognize it as a foreign body and destroy it. Some spontaneous abortions actually occur when the woman’s body doesn’t function properly and secrete the hormone. Yet it’s her right to kill the ‘fetus’. Ignoring all scientific and logical evidence, the pro-abortionists remain in control through emotional appeal. Mary, Spouse of the Holy Spirit, pray for us. 😦
