One of my so called friends has a tendency to guilt trip me or blame entirely anytime we get into a disagreement. I am always the one who needs to change and see things from his perspective. He will rationalize or downplay his wrongs. It seems if I do not hold him accountable he will not confess his place in the argument. He wants me to apologize when something goes wrong between us. May sound prideful no one should demand an apology from anyone. How can I learn to not let someone push all the blame on me?

Love like there’s no tomorrow, ecstasy in its utmost sense approves the morality of the church.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I wonder why you waste your time with someone who treats you like this…? The way you describe this person as a “so called friend” speaks volumes, and the statement that this person is but one of a series of “so called friends” leads me to believe you need to find some real friends who will support and encourage you instead of dragging you down.

He isn’t a friend, and he isn’t worth your time. Real friends take responsibility for their actions, and don’t guilt trip others. You need to be assertive and end the time you spend with him. Find some mature, non manipulative friends and don’t let him waste any more of your time.

I would not choose to continue a friendship with someone who exhibits that type of behavior. I would rather have no friends than have a friend who would guilt trip me at every turn.

Perhaps you could tell your friend honestly that you are tired of the disagreements between you both and can you just agree to disagree and move on and enjoy some time together doing things as friends.

If that doesn’t work, I might reconsider if this is really a person you want to have in your life.

It’s a merry-go-round. Get off. Do not allow anyone to disrespect you even if you disagree. Do not compromise your values. The longer you stay on the merry-go-round, the more emotionally damaged you will become. Love yourself enough not to let anyone do that to you. Take care of your mind. Pray and fast for the intentions of this person.
