My wife, a new convert this year has been taking a class at her Aunts church on the Eucharist. They’re useing a Threshold Bible Study book put out by Twenty-third Publications written by Stephen J. Binz. In the ninth lesson two peices of scripture is used to forshadow the Eucharist. In a round-about-way we see the link but still having a hard time seeing the connection and answering these questions. Any help would be great.
Scripture:
Proverbs 9:1-6
Wisdom has built her house, she has set up her seven columns; She has dressed her meat, mixed her wine, yes, she has spread her table. She has sent out her maidens; she calls from the heights out over the city: "Let whoever is simple turn in here; to him who lacks understanding, I say, Come, eat of my food, and drink of the wine I have mixed! Forsake foolishness that you may live; advance in the way of understanding.
Sirach 24:19-22
You will remember me as sweeter than honey, better to have than the honeycomb. He who eats of me will hunger still, he who drinks of me will thirst for more; He who obeys me will not be put to shame, he who serves me will never fail." All this is true of the book of the Most High’s covenant, the law which Moses commanded us as an inheritance for the community of Jacob.

- In what ways does the Old Testament description of Wisdom prepare for the New Testament description of the Word of God?
- In what ways is Wisdom described as a manifestation of God’s presence in the world?
- What is the difference between the banquet Wisdom provides and Christ’s food and drink?
- What is humanity’s deepest hunger and thirst? What can finally satisfy those longings?
- In what way can God’s presence in the world through Wisdom help me understand Christ’s presence in Echarist?
