If Catholics do not proclaim Jesus with their lives, then the Church becomes “not the mother, but the babysitter,” Pope Francis cautioned in a homily and a separate letter to his brother bishops in Argentina, reports the Catholic News Agency.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/cathnews/RSS/~4/z6qHiXrd6fA

That’s a good point, but what needs to be determine is what is the most effective way for this.

People won’t just become Catholic overnight, and in a lot of cases seem to figure with a little advice here or by pointing in a direction there that our Faith is the True One.

There are a lot of ways to share our most holy faith.

Remember the great commission? We are sent to teach, which is providing information and allowing Our Blessed Lord to do His work through the Holy Spirit. We must share Him with others as we meet him daily in our lives in the faces of those we encounter.

As His Holiness said:
When believers share their faith, “the Church becomes a mother church that produces children (and more) children, because we, the children of the Church, we carry that. But when we do not, the Church is not the mother, but the babysitter, that takes care of the baby – to put the baby to sleep. It is a Church dormant,” Pope Francis stated.
The solution to this is “to proclaim Christ, to carry the Church – this fruitful motherhood of the Church – forward,” he said.

Dear Church Militant and others on this thread,

I posted a similar thread, in the Spirituality section of CAF, quoting Pope Francis’ perfect analogy between the Church as “Babysitter” and the Church as “Mother” See HERE. I posted it there instead of Evangelization because I believe that the Catholic Church is in need of serious re-evangelization, which begins with the renewal of our spiritual lives. If we do not have intimate communion with Christ, how can we share His Life with others. If we do not really appreciate what we were given in Baptism how can we give what we do not have ourselves.

Mary our Mother and Model is all that we as Church are called to be. By the power of the Holy Spirit we are intended by God to be born anew in Christ and give Him to the world, in a way similar to Mary but uniquely different form her. She as the Immaculately conceived Mother of the Incarnate Son of God, and we as children of hers in Him, members of His Body. I also reference an excellent article by fr. John Hardon, SJ entitled “Mary and the Sanctification of the Family”. It was written some time ago, but is well worth reading and applying in some ways to the present. See HERE for Fr. Hardon’s article.
