This is a juicer!!

A woman left infertile after cancer treatment cannot use her frozen embryos to have a baby, the European Court of Human Rights has ruled.
Natallie Evans started IVF treatment with her then partner Howard Johnston in 2001 but he withdrew consent for the embryos to be used after they split up.

Ms Evans went to the Strasbourg court after exhausting the UK legal process.

She now hopes to appeal to the Grand Jury of the European Court, but still wants her ex-fiancé to change his mind.

So, should she be able to have a baby like this? Or not?

She has already had a baby - several, it sounds like. The question is whether she should be allowed to ‘un-freeze’ them or not.

interesting that this man was given legal rights regarding these embryos, but most men have no legal rights at all if the mother of their child wishes to abort.

That’s very true and very interesting Annie!!

How sick. That man made his choice when he gave his “sperm sample” to become a Dad. He shouldn’t get to “withdraw” his permission to allow the child to live.

Sickening. Just one more reason why IVF should be outlawed… Selfish people who think only about themselves.

**The gentleman had already decided to become a father, and most certainly knew how long the embryos could be stored, so he also knew the timeframe which he was working in. He also knew that his fiance(at the time) would not be able to bear children without the embryos.

He does not consider this a victory? If he wasn’t concerned about winning, why did he bring the case to court in the first place? He is being terribly selfish.**

Of course. because by wanting to have kids they are being selfish.

So not having kids is selfish, and having kids IVF is selfish. Seems kinda contradictory to me

They are selfish by thinking that they have such a right to a baby that it is OK for them to create several children, only to freeze them and then let the ones they don’t want die off.

And now due to selfishness, we have embryos that will not be allowed to live because one parent decides after the fact (after spilling his seed) that he no longer wants them.

Yes, SELFISH. And it is the innocent children that always suffer the consequences.
