:bigyikes: The following story is very shocking.:bigyikes:
:bigyikes: The 9th Court of Appeals actually did something correct for once.:bigyikes:

From LifeSiteNews.com:
Woman must Repay Government costs of Eugenic Abortion, US Court Rules

SAN FRANCISCO, August 19, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A federal appeals court ruled Thursday that the wife of a US navy man must pay the government back the US $3000.00 it spent aborting her child because the military refuses to fund eugenic abortion. Under federal law, the US military only pays for abortion in cases where the mother’s life would be endangered by childbirth.

Full story
I cannot believe they actually ruled a law Constitutional. The world must be comming to an end.

Good heavens! Make sure you’re sitting down.
The court said that the government has a legitimate interest in “protecting potential life” and that this is true** even when the fetus has no chance for survival**.
Can we then extrapololate from the above ruling that:

"the government has a legitimate interest in “protecting potential life” and that this is true when the fetus will thrive."

One would hope that to be true, but with the convoluted logic used to defend Roe v. Wade in the last decision that did so, I wouldn’t be so sure. The Supreme Court pretty much bought into the notion of Culturally defined Reality and took it one step further to say that Freedom consists in the right to define one’s own reality, and that includes whether or not a feus is a human or not.

There is NO defense for that position that also does not allow one to decide that other grown people aren’t human at the same time, which effectively makes teaching right and wrong impossible.

That’s how far this Court has strayed from its morings and how far off track our country may be since we elected the politicians who put the Justices who made these decisions on the Court.

This country and our society may be in a lot more trouble than we’d care to admit.

Sorry to pour the flame retardant on this party.

Blessed are they who act to save God’s Little Ones, Michael

Yeah, I know - I was being facetious. No party here, so you didn’t rain on anything. 😉

The chance of interpreting that ruling in light of protecting the unborn is roughly the same as that of hell turning into tundra tomorrow. 😦

I think the ruling will be overturned, anyway. Ninth circus has the worst record for that of any of the circuits, if I remember correctly?

Then the military will be required to fund abortions and the death peddlers will have won another one.

Let’s hope it does not go back before the 9th Circuit for reconsideration and, if it gets before the Supreme Court, that Justice O’Connor’s replacement is both in place and pro-life.
