Jesus was paid by women during his ministries, but yet to many men are belittling women mmm! sounds like male dominance . when women paid for Jesus , some say it was out of penance ,for example Mary Magdalene had to pay because she sinned as a prositute , or that Martha sinned because she was a church leader ,or phoebe because she was a preacher the list goes on , did anyone think maybe it wasn’t because of their sins or because their love for the lord ,maybe they wanted to valued and equaled in the worlds eyes as the saviour and his apostle was … mmm !
road block !
all women were treated equal by Jesus ,but not by his male followers ,why ?
that’s the question , why so much male dominance in the world while Jesus loved all equally .

The answer might well be in the culture of the times. Women and children held no power at that time. They couldn’t vote, witness in court, etc. In fact that is one of the problems with the trend toward inclusive language in the Bible. A gospel says that Jesus cured 5000 men. Not 5000 people. In fact there were probably many more than 5000 in the crowd. The reason the writer states 5k men is that he is saying that he has 5000 men who can testify (in court) to the truth of what occurred. Part of the culture is coming through in the writing. That is why, absolute literal translation of events (sola scriptura) is not a valid method of using Scripture. It must be understood in the context of the times.
One other note. There is a tendency now among Scripture scholars to back away from the contention that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute.
Much of Jesus’s teaching was in support of a new and different understanding of the status and role of women in life. Rules on divorce and remarriage is one instance. There are others.
