Men: Why are our suggestions for where to eat always wrong?

Some questions are impossible to answer, you’ve probably noticed this.

A couple of years ago I decided to confront the problem of disappearing single socks by buying three packets of black socks. My thought was if one goes missing I will still have pairs left and if another goes missing it’ll balance up etc. The fatal flaw in my plan? I bought one packet from three different places…they all started off the same but after a while they shrunk and faded differently. Now since their differences are so subtle they’re extremely hard to pair!
Doh!

(Sorry, I think ‘our suggestions’ is the clue here.😉)

Just tell us to guess where you’re taking us… and take us to our first guess! ("Oh, man, honey, you guessed! And I wanted to surprise you!)

Then I get: but I don’t knowwwww or you better not take me to ____

As I live in a small town it isn’t hard to make that decision.

Him: What are you in the mood for?

Me: I don’t really care. What are you in the mood for?

(Because I’m not a picky eater, and I know he doesn’t like my top preferences, and I know he eats out way more than I do, so I have a 95% chance of picking the place he’s eaten at three times in the last week.)

As time progressed, I found it easier to say, “How about x, y, or z? What are you in the mood for?”

Likewise, when we lived in a big city, we made up a list of random restaurants to choose from, if we ever got stuck. So if we weren’t in the mood for one of our standbys, we’d say, “So, do you want to try the Afghani place? Or what about the Egyptian place?” and try something unusual.

If I don’t have to make food that night, I’m up for anything!

Any food is fantastic if I don’t have to cook it and clean up afterwards!

Thankfully, there’s a no-fail solution to this dilemma, and in my experience, it works for both men and women:

(Please note that when the late-night munchies hit, Chick-fil-A should be replaced with Taco Bell. This also doesn’t work for Sundays, which is motivation to have a “no shopping or restaurant” policy on Sunday. If you live in a place with no Chick-fil-A, you’re living a miserable existence, whether or not you’re willing to admit it, and finding the “right” place to eat won’t help you.)
