Good evening, :raised_hands:t2:

I thought it might be nice to collect a variety of profiles of past and present Catholics who are active or part of the popular media.

I have three here, two will be most likely controversial due to the threads at the moment, but nonetheless:

I’d love to read about others! We are a diverse bunch. 🌷

I never knew that about Warhol. I know Kevin James and Mark Wahlberg are both practicing Catholics as we. I belive Silvestre Stallone and Martin Sheen do as well. I know Tom Hanks goes to church I’m not sure if he’s catholic or not.

I’ll check those out, I love interviews and long articles where they discuss their faith.

Thank you for sharing. 🌷

Ricardo Montalbain was a devout Catholic his entire life. Saint JP II knighted him as well. I have a tape of him leading the rosary.

Oh, I can’t wait to read that article tomorrow during breakfast!

It’s interesting to see where life’s journey takes people and us, and how faith accompanies them (or doesn’t).

Steve Carell
Stephen Colbert
Pierce Brosnan
Catherine Zeta-Jones
Martin Scorsese
Michael Moore
John Wayne
Mickey Rourke
Chris Matthews
Bob Newhart

Bing Crosby was a devout Catholic, and my brothers have a book where it talked about him being an altar boy even when he was older.

Before declaring emphatically that Bing Crosby was a devout Catholic read an account from his son Gary on what life with daddy was like.

Christ is the judge as to how devout Bing was, not his son Gary or anyone else for that matter. Besides Gary’s claims were disputed by other family members and children. There was also bad blood over the way Bing’s estate was setup.

There are a bunch of Catholics on Fox News. It comes up in conversation.

okay so what makes someone a “wonderful Catholic”?
“Wonderful” was the adjective I chose due to some of the threads that have started here, that put the faithful into different camps of thought. The threads is in a sense “eye bleach” somewhere to go to read about different Catholics, who may not be saints but live out—just like the rest of us—their life and identify as Catholics.

I’m trying here not to put a judgement hat on. 🌷
