I really have grown to love the parish we now belong to here in Florida. I never thought I’d find one I liked nearly as much as the one in PA, but we did. (praise be to God for directing us there!)

I just wanted to share a blurb from our priest’s homily this evening at the teen mass. He said "The Church isn’t for people who only live the teachings of Her, but ***who accept ***the teachings of Her, ***and try to live them ***daily.’ And he added… “I liken thinking that the Church is only for the righteous, to a hospital that would be closed to sick people and only accepting of the healthy.”

Needless to say, it was a great homily. They usually are, but the way he expounded upon Jesus’ teachings about not coming to save the righteous, but He came to heal the sinner was very moving.

Just sharing.🙂

On our local Christian radio station, they spoke of;

“Why does everyone expect Christians to be more saintly than anyone else? There just as sick as the next guy, the only difference is that they’re trying to get better. Church is like rehab for sinners”

I’m with you, ma’am! There have been few more comforting thoughts that to remember

“The sinner who feels within himself a total deprivation of all that is holy, pure, and solemn because of sin, the sinner who in his own eyes is in utter darkness, severed from the hope of salvation, from the light of life, and from the communion of saints, is himself the friend whom Jesus invited to dinner, the one who was asked to come out from behind the hedges, the one asked to be a partner in His wedding and an heir to God… Whoever is poor, hungry, sinful, fallen or ignorant is the guest of Christ.”

— Matthew the Poor

Here is the link to our pastor’s today homily - He always gives good homilies - and parishioners from other parish like to go to mass here because they like his homilies.
