Words of a prayer-help please

I have taken over temporarily as the leader of our daily Rosary and Divine Mercy. Those two basic prayers, I have no problem leading. We recite the prayer to St. Michael the Archangel in between. No problem.

After the Divine Mercy, our leader recites the following somewhat softly, and jumbled, and I never realized I didn’t know the whole work, so if you could help, I’d appreciate it.

After the Divine Mercy Chaplet, we say:

St. Faustina, pray for us.

Heavenly Father, bless our Church, bless our priests, especially our bishop, our pastor, our vicar, bless all parishoners. We are your people, the sheep of your flock. For this we pray to the Lord.
Lord hear our prayer.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.
St. Patrick, pray for us.
St. Joseph, pray for us.
St. Lorenzo Ruiz, pray for us.
Now here’s the part I’m stumbling around
_____________Divine Assistance__________________and may the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in Peace.(response)

These are elderly people who are very set in their prayers. They even claim a decade of each prayer as ‘theirs’, so no one butts in unless the person is absent. Can someone help with the parts around “Divine Assistance”? Thank you.

I’m sorry I don’t know the answer to your question, but I don’t think it’s an “official” part of the Divine Mercy, so you might have to ask someone in your prayer group. In the pamphlet on the chaplet of Divine Mercy that I have (and learned from), there are two optional prayers (one at the beginning, one at the end) that come from St. Faustina’s Diary. In case you want them, here they are:

Opening prayer:
You expired Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.(1319)
O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of mercy for us, I trust in You!(84)

Closing prayer:
Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself. (950)

Yes, we use those. Thank you so much. It may be a moot point, because after tomorrow, I won’t be able to lead, or participate for a week or so. My wife is having surgery on Friday, and the couple returns from vacation mid-week next week.
 
May the Divine Assistance remain always with us and may the souls of the faithfully departed through the Mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

Thank you, blessedstar. It’s good to know, because she speaks some passages so softly that I don’t always catch what she said. 🙂
