Just a suggestion… Try looking for a janitorial job. You still won’t get full time, but it generally pays better than retail, and they are always looking for *reliable *people. If you show up every time you’re scheduled to work, and do a good job, you’ll get better and better jobs.

Another nice thing is they pay by the job - that is, the manager decides the job should take, say, 3 hours, and you get paid for three hours no longer how long it takes you. If you’re good, it’ll take you half the time. And if you’re slow but good, you won’t get fired for it. and if you’re sick or hurt, you can creep around until the job is done, and still get your 3 hours pay.

Plus, working nights leaves your days free for looking for that law enforcement job!

Thanks Ruthie. That reminds me I forgot to pray for help in finding a job at Mass this morning when praying my list of intentions. Oh well, I seem to be forgetting stuff today. I couldn’t tell you what color vestments Father wore even though I went to Mass and looked at Father. It could be all the snow we got today.

With the regard to the law enforcement job, (I don’t know what you know about the whole process) I can apply with whichever agnecy I want to work for online. I then do a written test, physical test, psych test, interview, background check, and a few other steps depending on the agency. The minimum amount of time for the process is 6 months, mainly because of the background check. It can take up to a year. The nice thing is, once I apply, the ball gets rolling real quickly but steps in the process are dependent on when the specific agency has scheduled testing, etc.
