Many Jews say, “Jesus could not be the Messiah because He did not bring world peace.”

For it is the truth that when the Messiah comes, he will bring universal peace. How this will happen, some Jews say they don’t know, while others Jews believe it will be a miracle. A few Jews believe it will be by conquest.

But while such beliefs of peace are indeed rooted in the most ancient understanding of the spread of peace, they ultimately ignore an important fact, one even the Scriptures testify to: Hardness of heart.

Israel was promised the Promised Land - so long as it obeyed God. Israel conquered its enemies, and lived in peace for some times. But it kept to false gods, so it kept losing peace. And many of its enemies did not submit to God, at least not definitvely. It was a problem of hardness of heart. Not even the miracles which God worked could change the hearts of many of Israel’s enemies - let alone some of the Jews’ own hearts.

So world peace would not come by a miraclous change of heart, nor by world conquest. But some Jews believe God controls the heart, that free-will dose not exist, and others believe God will destroy Israel’s enemies with fire, just as He destroyed the wicked by a flood. Yet free-will dose exist and there is a double standard used when it comes to saying God will destroy Israel’s enemies: for on one hand, it is believed the Scriptural verses refer to Judgment Day, while on the other hand it is believed the verses refer to the messanic age. But it cannot be the same, because, if Israel’s enemies are destroyed when the Messiah comes, than they will be gone before Judgment Day, and, if they are destroyed on Judgment Day, than they will exist when the Messiah rules. But there are still other beliefs used to justify these beliefs, such as the belief that the Messiah will bring Judgment Day or the belief that some enemies will be destroyed at one time and the rest at another time. But all of that is mere speculation.

So, like I said, world peace could not come by a miracle or by conquest. It must come by a more hidden way, a more interior way, a way that changes the hearts of men, gradually, and this would not be against God’s work, for He dose work slowly, as history and science show. But how would this gradual peace come? Some say, again, by conquest, others say by conquest and miracles, and a few say it is unknown. But there is one known way, which few Jews seem to like: Jesus’ way!

Jesus, by His Death, as the Lamb of God, reconciled man to God. He, the Word Incarnate, brought peace into the world. All peace comes from the peace between God and man, and the Scriptures - the Word - brings world peace. By submission to the reign of Jesus, as Messiah and Lord, one discovers the peace which God wishes to give the world, which He is giving hearts, which will conquer all evil, even the last enemy: death. But some Jews protest, “How can He be God and Messiah and Lamb of God and Prophet and High Priest and the New Adam at once?” Because God can do all things - there is nothing beyond His power! He can join humanity to His Divinity, effectively becoming incarnate, becoming man, without changing His Nature, and He can accomplish exactly what He promised Israel: redemption, sanctification, new creation, peace, and mercy!

Amen, he paid the price so that we as humans may be in him even though we are unworthy!
Christ said; “No one can get to the father except through me.” …see? We are unworthy but Christ saw our woes and he came to pay the price that we will all have the chance of salvation. Thank you Lord!

Zechariah 10:8-9 (New International Version)

8 I will signal for them
and gather them in.
Surely I will redeem them;
they will be as numerous as before.
9 Though I scatter them among the peoples,
yet in distant lands they will remember me.
They and their children will survive,
and they will return.

We have all returned home thanks to the priceless sacrifice of our savior. Thanks to him we will all be united again in Christ’s name.

“Come to me all ye who labour and are over burdened, and I shall grant you peace.”😛

I must admit to being a bit puzzled about the point of this thread.

Is it for Muslims or something?

I’m being entirely serious. It’s obviously not for Christians, since it’s pretty standard Christian fare and what would be the point of a ‘me too!’ thread? There’s only a couple of Jewish posters around and Eucharisted is smart enough to know that neither of us are likely to be vaguely impressed by that sort of posting.

So, who else could it be for?

I have an idea, why don’t you fight your beliefs on this thread?
It is an opportunity for you!😃
