Lately, I have been losing faith in the state of our world. People are so uncharitable, there are constant shootings, terrorism, no respect for life, religious intolerance, heresy, and lack of respect for the Eucharist. For some Catholics, it seems that their faith has become more about them than God. And, this even applies to some clergy. I know the world has gone through tumultuous times in the past, but it seems worse now than ever. Many people want to divide Catholics into “liberal” or “conservative” even though there are only faithful and unfaithful Catholics.

I may sound naive to some, but I am truly saddened by the state of the world. I think of what Sister Lucia, one of the Fatima visionaries said:
“the decisive battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan will be about marriage and the family. Do not be afraid, she added because anyone who works for the sanctity of marriage and the family will always be fought and opposed in every way because this is the decisive issue. And then she concluded: however, Our Lady has already crushed his head.” (Fatima visionary to Cardinal: “Final battle between God and Satan will be over marriage and family”)
I know we Shouldn’t “be afraid”, but on a human level, how can we cope with the world around us? How can we cope when people we put our trust in let us down? How do we confront a world that loves sin?

I do know how you feel. But we are not of this world, we dont belong here, no wonder we don’t like it and no wonder it is frightening. We only need to trust in God.
I know sometimes that sounds a bit trite, but it is really not. These doubts are just the devils whispering in your ear. Just remember you dont belong here, this is not your home, it’s just some place you are hanging around in til you go home. You just have to make the best of it and do your best for others until you go. There are just as many positive things to read about people helping each other and loving each other and miraculous conversion stories. It all depends on where you look. Who you listen too. So yes, it’s ok to be sad about the world but don’t get to bogged down… God has already won. God bless you x

The more attached you are to Jesus, the eaiser it will be to detach from the world.

Im so un happy with people of the world, I would rather stay away from people all together. Half of the them need Bibles thrown at their heads, maybe it would knock some sense into them! Why on earth is abortion/murdering babies women’s right? Half the babies aborted are female, what about their rights?

Jesus said “ you are - the light - of the world “
That’s our job 💡

“ the field is the world - the good seed are the children of the kingdom “
🎄

“ lo, I am with you, until the end of the world “

Romans 13:12

The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

This is why we are all so very much needed as witnesses to the cross. That we are in these times should come as no surprise as we were told to expect them in the Bible. This is the separation of the wheat from the chaff, and an opportunity to pull others out of their misery through Christ.

I have made the deliberate decision to see the good in people. It is hard sometimes. We also live in a world with a 24 hour news cycle. We hear all about evils that have been happening since the beginning of time, and we hear about it 24/7. It is hard not to get depressed.

When I look into the eyes of people who I cross paths with each day, it is hard for me to not see their soul. The eyes really are the window to the soul, it seems. So I take a look, and I see wonderful things. Even (especially) if it is just someone in passing, like the mailman or the lady behind the counter at the 7-11. Then, I reflect on what I saw. If I spend my thoughtful moments doing that on a regular basis, it is difficult to find the time to worry about all the things you reference. There is plenty of good to be seen in even the worst among us, if we look for it. Yes, people aren’t perfect. But they are still God’s creations.

I know it is hard, especially for someone like me. I struggle because I am a critical thinker by nature. So I really have to make the choice to celebrate the things that are good and right, rather than dwell on what is wrong. I can always tell in short-order when I am failing, because my general anxiety rises. Then I just get myself back on track and begin again.

Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.

Fix yourself first. And by that you surrender yourself into God’s will for your life. This will be a part to full time job.

Then you uplift your sphere of influence, your friends and family, in prayer, with good example and with words when necessary. This will be another part to full time job.

Oh, and it won’t be you causing conversions, but the Holy Spirit.

Then you expand outward to your community and to the world, with prayer and reparation.

And you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, like the story of St Peter who walked across the water as long as he gazed upon Jesus, but sank the minute he looked around at the storm.

I will join my prayers with yours!

When you think it is bad today, imagine how someone in Europe felt in 1939…the Great War had ended just 20 years prior, claiming millions of lives, joined at the end by the Spanish Flu outbreak which killed millions more…and here they are again about to start WW2. Meanwhile, America during the 20s time was going through Prohibition and massive gang warfare, then the Great Depression struck, followed by its entry into WW2. Then all of this followed by the Cold War, where East and West sat on edge for over 40 years wondering whether each would annihilate the other. So as bad as it seems today, such times have always existed throughout history. Though I would agree that contemporary Western Civilization is pointedly anti-Christian.
