Worried for My family

Could you all please pray for my family? My family was born Catholic, not all of us are devout but baptized and confirmed. I am learning about the History and Catechism of the church and I know it’s true and made and maintained by Jesus himself.

One of my uncles was influenced by evangelical Christians (Presbyterians and baptists) when he was younger, when he was 18 he found Christ, but the way he found Christ, his “friends” led him away from Christ and His church. He is now a baptist minister in a congregation in my home town and is talking against the catholic church in his sermons with “you don’t need those old traditions”, he actually lead 2 of my cousins out of the Church. When we get together, I ask him why he doesn’t believe in the Church and he answers everything with “it’s a metaphor”. He also said that the reason he doesn’t follow the example of the 144,000 that St. John was talking about in revelations is because he “likes to have sex”. I hate seeing him lukewarm, I love my uncle and I want to see him in heaven, he knows Jesus made ONE Church and that he left it. Please pray for him.

Joe, it’s great that you are so concerned for your family like this, it can be heartbreaking when a family member totally abandons the Church. Please know I will be praying for your family.

I really feel for you!! My second cousin was brainwashed by a cult, and it got so bad that the family had to kidnap her to ‘wake her up.’ Because deep down she knew
You should put this in prayer intentions as well! If you can’t reverse this horrible trend, only God can.

It might spark some belief in him. aside the last judgment, I don’t think he knows (if he does know, he might not be accepting it) that St. John was the Bishop of those 7 churches he was talking to. Or that revelations is about the universalness of the Mass and the union of the Church in heaven and on Earth, the communion of saints, the Virgin Mary as the Queen of Heaven, about purgatory, the Eucharist, the Priesthood, the deacons, the consecrated, the martyrs etc. Or that some of the angels are serving as Acolytes in the mass in heaven. Or that revelations is also a description that the Mass is eternal regardless of what is happening in the world.

Rather than that un-biblical new age dogma called “rapture” which was made up by people who don’t understand the Eucharist or the Church herself.
