No because the saints arenāt dead. They are alive in Heaven.

Theyāre not worshipped. Theyāre family, and loved, and we ask their prayers.

but still acording to the old testament theres a prohibition of contacting the dead , it does not matter that they are saints they still spirits , i never see a muslim praying to mohamad or a jew praying to moses , the catholic saints remains are also worshiped ( bones ) and in older times the bones of a saint were used to consacrate altars in the church , worshiping bones are a form of necromance .

I donāt, as a Lutheran, practice intercessory prayer, but requests of intercession by Catholics to the Church Triumphant is not prayers to the dead.

I pray you, please respond to my last post. A prayer can be any request or petition made to anyone by anyone. Obviously, in my sentence I was not worshipping you.

Nice try but your definition doesnāt work. You would have a better case (with that definition of prayer) trying to prove that Catholics are not praying to the saints at all than that their prayers equate worship.
Read the definition again, slowly. It says a prayer is:
- A reverent petition to
- God
- a god
- or another object of worship
And to your second definition; God is the King of the living, not the dead and our Lord is not bound by a Websterās dictionary

your definition of prayer is not Catholic definition. hereās our definition of prayer according to Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Prayer = āThe elevation of the mind and heart to God in praise of his glory; a petition made to God for some desired good, or in thanksgiving for a good received, or in intercession for others before God. Through prayer the Christian experiences a communion with God through Christ in the Church.ā

How are the twenty-four elders which represent the Saints, family and friends going to receive our prayers to give to Christ as stated in the book of Revelation 5:8 if we donāt communicate with them though prayer.
