Would a "ripoff" of "The Facts of Life" work on the Disney Channel in this day and age?

Work in what way?

Heaven knows all the channels either work variations of older shows, or reboot old shows and ruin them.

Seriously, there hasn’t been an original thought, especially when it comes to tween/teen programming on the networks, in decades.

It used to be they would take the old and reverse it.

Ie: Beverly Hillbillies: Country folks in the city.
Wham: Green Acres: City folks in the country.

Then they would take a show and camp it up:
Then they would take it and ‘slut it up’. (This was called being edgy and daring, groundbreaking). See: Beverly Hills 90210.

Early shows would make ‘normal’ kids cute: Andy Griffith, the Patty Duke show, Leave it to Beaver, My Three sons, etc.

Then we took families and went from Ozzie and Harriet to Family to Married with Children to Party of Five to The Simpsons to Riverdale.

We went from 'fantasy" with cartoons to Sabrina the Teenage With to Buffy and Angel, Charmed. . .and now we have Sabrina again, a hell (pun intended) of a lot darker.

We used to see Disney shows like Spin and Marty, movies like Toby Tyler and Thumbelina, animation like Fantasia: then we had the ‘Golden movies’ of Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, the Lion King. . . followed by their cartoon series, followed by cartoons ‘in the spirit’ like Jake and the Neverland Pirates, then "Toon Disney’ with Phineas and Ferb, then the 7D, later on stuff/guff like Magisword, Pickle and Peanut, Uncle Grandpa, Adventure Time, Steven Universe. . .

We went from the Klasky-Czupo Rugrats to Hey Arnold on Nick, now we’re getting dreck like Henry Danger, The Loud House, don’t start me on Spongebob. . .

The non animated junk like Jessie and Bunked and The Suite Life. . . which make reruns of Different Strokes and Facts of Life look like sessions with Proust. . .

Yuck.

Disney has been reusing their old content for movies and it is getting really annoying.

Great.
Now their dopey theme song is stuck in my head.

with Children to Party of Five to The Simpsons
In all seriousness, if you actually watch the Simpsons, the family values are better than just about anything else in recent times. Yes, they’re dysfunctional and screwballs, but they come together each and every time when there’s an issue.

*shrug*

Willie and the brothers Grimm did the same thing . . .

I’m more surprised that people would want to watch a live action film that is mostly the same to the original one.

Especially when they aren’t that far off in time. It was one thing to remake The Parent Trap about 35 years after the first; but really, remaking Freaky Friday in a period of what, 11 years or so? It’s not like the first was that great!!

And while it’s Cartoon Network and not Disney, seriously, Scooby Doo? Live action reboots over and over?
