I am 19 years old, nearly 20, and soon to be attending university to study drama and theater arts. I hope to do some clothes modeling or general modeling work part-time to earn some extra money while at university by signing up with an agency. Furthermore, an opportunity has come up before I go for me to take part in a project by a photographer hoping to make a hardback copy of his photography work.
The project is called sk:n (skin) and could be described as erotic in context. If I did the photo-shoot, which I am very interested in and can appreciate from an artistic point of view, it would involve being photographed in a seductive or “erotic” fashion. I would like to point out, under no circumstances does this mean pornographic or nude shots, but in fact may involve shirtless shots, or even just seductive looks.
The photographer has said he wishes for the photographs to tell a story, contrast, look out of place but also to be “sexy” and seductive. I am very tempted to accept this as it would be a great experience, however I am worried, that because I am a devout Catholic, I would be damaging my relationship with Christ. Please tell me, if I were to do this sort of modeling, or any sort of modeling that is non-pornographic and involves no sexual contact, would it be a sin?
Please explain. I am desperate to know before I make the choice.
