Would receiving the Eucharist be considered a sacrilage if one committed a mortal sin a few hours after Mass?

I realize that one has to be consciously free of mortal sin to properly receive the Eucharist. Given a situation in which one received the Eucharist then fell into mortal sin later in the evening, does this make the reception an unworthy and sacreligious one? I am assuming that the individual was not planning to commit a mortal sin later in the day, while at Mass

No, the sacrilege does not travel back in time like that. So, if you do a mortal sin several hours after you get back from mass and communion, you will only need to confess the mortal sin. You will not need to confess sacrilege.

What matters is that you were properly disposed to receive the Eucharist when you received.

I think it would only be a problem if you planned to commit a mortal sin while receiving communion.

of course not, sin is not retroactive
