Someone else posted about encouraging peaceful Muslim immigration. What about Catholic immigration?

Would you help fund a program that would bring oppressed Catholics to the US?

Would you fund a program to help oppressed Catholics make political gains in their own countries?
 
We used to do this when I was an Episcopalian. Our parish helped bring families who were in danger from Islamic extremists in Africa over to the States. Their stories were horrifying. There wound up being a small network amongst the protestant churches in our area of ‘survivors’ from Nigeria and other places where Christians were being murdered either for being Christians, the wrong tribe, or just living in the wrong place.
 
I think it is an excellent idea. Especially since it seems that Catholics from third world countries actually seem to follow the Church a bit more closely than many American Catholics coughPelosicough. And if we are to have a limit on immigration, should we not bring those who will love our country?
