Is this “socially acceptable” in the catholic church ? To try to talk to him ? For him to help you and be a friend
Truthfully that’s what I’m aiming for…like to be friends…not as a priest/parishioner relationship but just a friendship not really having anything to do with religion per say
We were already going to play volleyball once a week but didn’t get enough people for two teams
I don’t know what’s socially acceptable in the catholic church
Should I go to mass and only depend on him for the sacraments ? Or look at him as an individual and form a friendship ?
Thank you for your (name removed by moderator)ut !

Go to mass and depend on him for the sacraments only. I am sure if your priest wanted friends, he could find them . Receiving a letter from you would most likely be awkward for him and embarrassing for you.

If you want to be friends, try some casual thing like inviting him out for lunch in a restaurant or in your home.

I have found priests very open to emais I have sent and most always get replies.
Maybe I have been blessed with some very good priests. I don’t overwhelm them
with personal problems, but have contacted them regarding many different areas.
