Hello.

I just want to ask how many of you here have their representative of your Church? This coming World Youth Day? šŸ™‚

I donā€™t know how to explain it exactly what is WYD. :). Try to ask others :).

World Youth Day is a 2week long Camp for Young Catholics 13-30year olds who attend catechism, mass, lectures, debates etc. They had exhibitions of articles from the Vatican, halls of stands full of everything Catholic.

It was started by PopeJPII and is held every 3years I think. This year Brazil is the host.

Catholic Youth from all over the world attend and are billeted by families in the local area; camp in halls of local Catholic schools, Catholic universities, hotels, backpackers etc. It culminates in a Papal Mass.

I was lucky enough to attend WYD in Sydney 2008 and it was AWESOMEā€¦LIFE CHANGINGā€¦

I met Catholics from China, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, India, Russia, Brazil, Denmark, England, all over the world.

There was also non-Catholics who attended. Hillsong choir sang one night, all sorts of Catholic bands and musicians.

We had half a million attend the papal Mass. WYD in Philipines had millions attend.

I just found out that

June 13, 2013. (Romereports.com) World Youth Day organizers are teaming up with the World Wildlife Fund [more about this orgā€™n below]. Together, they have launched a video on why itā€™s important to protect animals and Mother Nature. The video titled, ā€˜We Are All Connectedā€™ shows the strong bond between animals and humans.

The video was released on June 5th, which marked World Environment Day. The goal is to highlight the indisputable connection between mankind and nature, precisely to instill a sense of responsibility among the youth. What better place to bring forth that message that in Brazil, which has one of the richest eco-systems in the world.

Those who are participating should be aware that the WWF
supports the Kyoto accord and the global warming hypothesis on which it is based. The organization also emphasizes ā€œsustainable growth,ā€ a theory whose goals invariably come with a demand for population control, a euphemism for abortion-on-demand.

IMO, this is an unholy alliance. I wonder just who (organizers of WYD) thought this was a good idea?

Iā€™m certainly not against preserving our earth and taking reasonable measures to protect the environment, but one of the threats to ā€œmother earthā€ WWF sees is human overpopulation and promotes means to control it. Paul R. Ehrlich has been on the forefront of this and is the science czar in the Obama administration. Connecting the dots now?

Iā€™m just saying, if youā€™re attending WYD, please be aware of (and wary of) the propaganda WWF will likely be passing out.

A followup report from attendees would be most interesting.

I honestly donā€™t know if anyone from my parish is attending this year, but I went to Denver in 1993 and it was life-changing for me!
