However, IF the reg. commission approves such a thing (and that is an “IF”) then I am sure that it will only be a matter of time (short time) before another company steps in and fills the void. On the other hand, think of all the new customers that will be exposed to EWTN (ch. 160) and THE CATHOLIC CHANNEL (ch. 159)!The nytimes reports:

The Catholic Channel is a new channel provided by Sirius. It’s not as good as EWTN (IMHO) but during the times that EWTN is playing repeats of shows I’ve already listened to, it is a good substitute. For me, as I listen to both channels, I find that The Catholic Channel is simplier, easier to understand, “candy-coated” if you will. It’s not a bad channel, but it’s not the “meat-&-potatoes” like EWTN is.…as for “the Catholic Channel” I have never heard of it!
Me… I’m an NFL fan so Sirius was the way to go. Actually EWTN is really what sold me on Sirius but football was a great secondary reason. MLB is my next favorite sport to follow. I agree with you concerning the possibility of merging all the great sporting events. However, I fear that it may be too much to hope for. I kinds think that the reg. commission won’t approve the merger.Hopefully we’ll be able to get the NHL and MLB on the same equipment. The biggest thing holding me back from getting satellite radio has been the two separate services, each of which has good programming, but lacked what the other has. If I could get hockey and baseball on the same service, I’d probably sign up.
Not so. When these companies started iPods, podcasts, HD radio, streaming video, Youtube, &c. didn’t even exist. Satellite radio is just one datastream of many customers may choose from. Heck, I just discovered there a couple dozen channels of music included with my digital cable.The nytimes reports:

Comcast treats you nicely now? Where do you live? I’m moving there, because Comcast treats me like the scum that lives on the bottom of scum. They screwed up my service and then had nerve enough to leave me on hold for 90 minutes for their mistake.I remember when Comcast was the only high-speed internet provider in my area, they treated their customers pretty lousy before a new company came along.
