This is Saint Isidore the Farmer’s Day! 🙂 I love Saint Isidore! I’m so happy for him today. I love him because of the example he sets; he plowed the fields talking to the angels all day. His saint card has a framed place on my home praying station. He’s right next to Saint Clare and Saint Catherine of Siena with his own John Paul II rosary hanging over him. 🙂

I love the idea of just working and talking to God.

Down here near the U.S. Border, he’s popular amongst the workers.

Your joy is contagious. 🙂

Interesting …

Judging by the dates of his life, and the location, I think it would be safe to assume he was a Mozarab Christian. It is good to see this holy man of these holy people receiving the recognition to this day.

I too feel particularly joyous for this. His holy card is on our kitchen table. Isidore’s wife is also a saint.

Dear Isidore, you know how normal it is to cultivate the land for you were employed as a farm laborer most of your life. Although you received God’s help materially through Angels in the field, all farmers are aided spiritually to see the wonders God has strewn on this earth. Encourage all farmers in their labors and help them to feed many people. Amen.

:)Thank you everyone for visiting this little thread. It makes me feel like we had a little party for him in our hearts. Saint Isidore is up there blessing the workers who do good, honest work and love the Lord.

Saint Isidore the Farmer pray for us.

🙂

He’s also the patron Saint of the internet! Check out my signature. 😃

This is off topic, but I am searching for picture and prayer for “Santa Maria Jacobe”. She is my wife’s family Lenten Saint back in the Philippines, and I can’t find one anywhere.

Saint Isidore of Seville and Saint Isidore the farmer are NOT the same person. Isidore of Seville was an archbishop, Isidore the farmer was a lay farmer.

You are correct! I went and did a quick search. The Isidore I presented the Isidore the farmer, are indeed two different people. 🙂

Peace.

Since according to tradition, Sta. Maria Jacobe was the wife of Cleofas, and of the women at the foot of the cross. She’s also believed to be one of the women with Mary Magdalene on Easter morning. I think you can formulate your own prayers using this background.

Thank you for this thread! As a horticultural worker I think of him as my special friend.
