Does anyone remember the Year of Faith Oct. 11, 2012-Nov. 24, 2013?? Here, it was mentioned for about a month, and then never heard another word about it! Is anyone’s parish doing anything to celebrate this?

I recite a prayer for this year of faith daily.It was handed out by my parish.Additionally,I am participating in the Four Pillars,which is a study of the Cathesism.

Thank you for your kind response, Jeanne- I am ashamed to admit that I received that prayer card, and no doubt it is still sitting at the bottom of the handbag I was carrying that day! I will follow your example and begin a self directed program to celebrate the Year of Faith.

Posters on this forum certainly haven’t expressed much passion about the Year of Faith. Like you, I started a thread and received little response. (forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=759227)
Sadly, in my diocese, the response seems so “ho hum” from the top leaders on down. There’s been some lip service, and scattered attempts among parishes to “do SOMETHING” – but I have witnessed little passion about this Year of Faith.
Let’s keep praying.

The informal bible study group I am a part of used Mitch Pacwa’s book “The Year of Faith” for a six-week study. It helped us get deeper into the Bible. I think that we as individuals have to find our own ways to make the Year of Faith meaningful.

Why not evangelize? All it takes: Some rosaries, some tracts, some prayer and some intellectual honesty. Go out on a street corner. Just do it!
