How are some of your parishes observing the “Year of the Eucharist”?

Sadly, no mention of this has accured in my parish.

  1. Attend Mass every day I possible can.
  2. Attend Eucharistic Adoration at least once a week.
  3. I’m backpacking across Europe next fall when I leave the Navy. I plan on going to Rome, Assisi, Lourdes and Fatima. I also am wanting to attend the Juventutem Festival in Bavaria just prior to WYD.

Our parish has been publishing articles in the bulletin regarding the world wide events including the opening at the Eucharistic Congress in Mexico City in Oct. One of our parishioners even was lucky enough to attend. Our deacon has been placing regular articles in the paper as well as speaking directly from the pulpit. Even the parish is feeling its contagion and giving him articles to read to supplement his sources regarding the Eucharist. God is good…all the time!

I am still waiting in my parish to see ANYTHING concerning the Year of the Eucharist. But then again, we did nothing last year for the Year of the Rosary. 😦

My home parish is doing as much as they can to encourage adoration of the blessed sacrament. My week-day parish is doing adoration after the M-F noon mass until 3 p.m. The first day of adoration was this past Friday. Isn’t that awesome!

See my thread on this topic as well at forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=21534

Finally, read the apostollic letter and present it to your pastor. Our Holy Father addresses each of us in the letter and offers us a challenge. Read it, share it, share it, and share it.

God Bless…

I read the document about a week ago and have done nothing but ask others to read it including lay, pastors, seminarians, and teachers. Most had not read it but said they would after I had informed them of it. The teacher I spoke to said she would distribute it among her peers and consider doing an activity for the children. Challenge them to read it, that’s the best we can do.

God Bless…
