  1. You can get senior discounts as soon as you turn 39.
  2. People you meet ask how long you’ve been in town. If you name a double-digit figure, they stare open-mouthed and ask what it’s like.
  3. The Burger King requires a resume, three years of related experience and two years of college study in a fast-food-related field.
  4. You know when hippie Christmas is, and your family always celebrates.
  5. You tell a neighbor at the bus stop you’re going to church and she giggles, then slowly seems to realize you’re serious, struggles visibly for a resonse, and finally says, “What’s that like?”

hahaha dh and I went to mass on campus tonight… I asked if we should scope out good Catholic girls for our boys and DH pointed out
  1. they would probably think I was trying to pick them up or that he was a dirty old man for talking to them (he is 34).

The attendance at mass is decreased by 30% during summer and holiday breaks. I sure miss the college students when they are gone…:crying:

You learn how to get all of your shopping done during the 2nd and 3rd quarters on home football game days. (traffic avoidance plan)

The night shift workers at the local convenience stores are all working on advanced scientific degrees.

You frequently see letters to the editor from old hippies complaining about how “oppressive” it is that the police carry firearms or bemoaning the lack of legal marijuana.

your town has 5 college bookstores, 4 good independent bookstores, at least one chain bookstore, a couple of good funky used bookstores, and only one hardware store.

When young adults protest in front of the local Catholic church.

many parishes have a late Sunday evening Mass for students coming back from weekend breaks, and when many “regular” families worship at the campus ministry center as their regular “parish”

the people pushing carts at walmart or serving fries at McDonald’s are better educated than you are.

Sounds like my home town. My 80-year-old mother is a semi-regular at the Newman Center Sunday evening Mass!
