I am a 19 year old sophomore in college. I will be starting nursing school this winter, and the program will take 2.5 years. I currently also work part-time Outside of work and school, I am very involved in my college’s Catholic group and go to mass on Sunday and one weeknight on campus with the group. I also volunteer at a hospital and food pantry. My question is, what should be my focus in life right now? I get all A’s and make a good amount of money at work, but I feel all I do is work and study. With nursing school starting, I know I will be studying even more. What is my purpose/what should my mind be focused on right now? I worry about finding a spouse, finances, paying for school, my career, and future family. Does anyone have any advice or insight into what a college student who is very Catholic and wants to live out their Faith my age should be trying to work towards, be focused on, and achieve? Thanks.

You’re purpose is to be the best nurse you can be. Comfort the sick, help patients with their pain management, communicate with family members, hold the young girl’s hand who got impregnated and is scared, comfort the dying patient, aid physicians and ancillary healthcare staff. It’s a tall order and no small task you’re taking on. We need dedicated people like you working in healthcare. God bless.

This! I have this conversation with my daughter, when she is feeling frustrated with her studies, that she needs to focus on the “here and now” and let the future take care of itself. Her job right now is to attend classes, study, complete her course of study. Then she can worry about jobs, family, etc.

Students who meet the criteria do not even have to pay dues, it is all there on the website.

All of us regardless of where we are in life, should wake up and offer up our day, our struggles, to our Blessed Mother for the conversion of sinners and peace in this world, as she has asked us at Fatima. Then we are plugged into what ever God is doing in the world today while we take care of what is ours to do.

When you think of your future spouse and children, tell Jesus that you trust in his love and care for you and to guide and help your future spouse, that they make good choices and stay close to God. I prayed every day for my future husband when I was single and I was very surprised to hear how the grace of God worked in his life before I even met him. It was delightful. This same grace I wish for you!

God bless you as you move on in your studies.
