How long does it take to cook food using it?
It depends on what you are making.

Each pot works as a regular crock pot. 🤷 I’m not sure how long stuff takes.

I know I put in veggies just an hour before we ate, and I had to turn them from high to keep warm because they were boiling. Frozen stuff takes longer than

Mine has an off, low, high and a keep warm setting.

Thanks be, we have no more parties to go to for the holidays! :extrahappy: Don’t get me wrong, I like seeing my family and I love them, but it’s a bit of a strain for me since I’m an introvert. We survived one baby shower, a retirement dinner, a family Christmas party and a KC Christmas party. Now we’re free and clear from now until next year’s holiday go-round. My dh and I will attend midnight Mass and have a quiet day at home Christmas Day. Other than that we plan on seeing a couple of movies but that’s it. Ahhhhhh, it’s good to be able to just celebrate Christmas without any more events on the horizon. 😃

I’ll be serving three masses (I’m an altar server) singing in the choir at church,
my sister will be distributing Holy Communion ( she is an EM) Open gifts, eat a lot, and spend time with the family at home.

God bless! šŸ™‚

Wow that sounds lovely…is your whole family going to attend mass to hear you sing in the choir?

That sounds like my kinda christmas 😃

No plans at all. I have to work all the weekdays (industrial security does not get holidays), so the only Mass I can attend is the 4:00 Children’s Mass on Christmas Eve, which is always a goat-rope. And I’ll have to scurry to make it to that. I’ll crock-pot something, maybe a boneless turkey breast, make some sides when I get home, and that’ll be dinner.
ā€œGoat-ropeā€? What is that?

Early Mass on Christmas Eve. Dinner that night. Wife will wake me up at 6am to open her presents. So we always know what to get the other, we make Christmas lists out. Her’s is always simple; handbags and fur coats.

Christmas Eve:

-Exchanging ā€œstockingā€ gifts with my wife.
-Drinking hot cocoa and egg nog
-Listening to Christmas music
-Watching ā€œA Christmas Storyā€
-Midnight Mass

Christmas Day:

-Morning breakfast at my wife’s mother’s house.
-Exchange of gifts with wife and wife’s family after that.
-Visiting wife’s cousin’s home nearby
-Christmas dinner at my brother’s house with my parents, brothers, their wives and kids
-Exchanging gifts again

I’m going to be on honeymoon over Christmas this year. 😃

But, holiday plans in general are a big family dinner for Mother’s Night tonight, then our wedding and the Yule Feast tomorrow. I have a metric ton of cooking to do.

Craft a glorious dinner and then watch me slowly drink too much. I really enjoy Christmas.

Hi everybody, what are you and your family plans for christmas eve and christmas day? Will you spend it at home or away? What will you eat?
I am working the Christmas Eve and Day Masses so we have to stay at home this year. Wish we could go to warm sunny Florida to visit my father, but we will have a white Christmas in ND.

We will have a wonderful breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast then a yummy ham dinner.

Merry Christmas!

We’ll spend Christmas eve with my in-laws, followed by evening Mass.
Christmas day we’ll spend at home.

Our Christmas dinner Menu: Roast beef, potatoes (baked, twice baked or garlic mashed–haven’t decided yet), creamed corn, pear salad with greens, bread, a nice Cabernet and sparkling grape juice.

I live in my sister’s house, which is quite large, and she will be hosting the annual Christmas Eve party (or ā€œopen houseā€) beginning at 3:30. Almost all the family will be there. I am guessing around 20 - 22 (including all the children). Food will be something simple such as spagetti or lasagna and snacks, wine, sparkling cider, coffee. She hosts Thanksgiving too, so turkey, etc. again is too much. I would love tamales, which is often served in Southern California for Christmas. I should mention that and see if we can order some!

I will go to the 5 o’clock Christmas Eve Children’s Mass. I enjoy seeing the kids act out the gospel. All the little angels and shepards, etc. I will probably need to leave the house very shortly after others are arriving, in order to get a nice seat.

Around 10:30 or so, I will say goodnight, retire to my bedroom, get ready for bed, and watch the Midnight Mass from the Vatican broadcast on NBC. I usually fall asleep during, though, with all that lovely soothing music. So I will set my DVR to record.

On Christmas morning, I will probably be singing at the 11 o’clock Mass. If the choir I am part of is not scheduled to sing, I will stay home, but I am pretty sure we will be singing Christmas morning.

Interestingly enough, I am the only one in the family that will go to church at all for Christmas, unless someone surprises me. Since I don’t own a car, I will be picking up a rental the morning of Christmas Eve to get to the church. I usually enjoy seeing the employees there during the holidays, so it will be fun.
