Your most inspiring saints

I really love to read about the lives of the Saints and reflect upon how these holy men and women found the path to God. For inspiration, these Saints are my favourites:
Clare of Assisi and Francis of Assisi, both for their love of the poor and their wish to live as Christ.
Perpetua and Felicity, for their courage to sacrifice their lives for God.
Thomas More, for having the courage to stand for the truth.
Bridget of Sweden, because she was an Amazingly brave woman and a great wife and mother.
Augustine of Hippo, for his searcing and finding of the faith
Therese of Lisieux, for her Amazing thoughts on God, faith and scripture. Always brings hope and faith to my soul.
Maximilian Kolbe, for doing for a Another human what Christ did for all of us: give his Life.

Which Saints do you feel have helped you in your faith?
 
For me,
St Therese, and her newly canonized parents, a family that has long inspired me.
St John because he remained faithful and stood by Jesus even when the rest of the twelve fled in ear for their lives;
St Peter because he also loved, like John, but he made mistakes and sometimes bumbled and was rebuked by Jesus, but he gamely rose tried again instead of becoming discouraged.
Saint Mary MacKillop, who endured much even from the people she should most have been able to trust, without losing faith or charity, and for her lifelong work for the poor.
 
My inspiration is St. Francis of Asissi; who saw God’s handiwork in every living thing & lived the Gospel every day of his life.
 
For Eucharistic devotion: St. Crescentia.

For confidence: Sr. Benigna Consolata, St. Therese and a host of others.

For humility and wisdom: St. Thomas Aquinas.

For patience in suffering: St. Padre Pio.

For everything: Our Lady.
 
St Thomas The Apostle (last definitely heard of at Takshasila) and Nicodemus, Find-Outers

Bd John Henry Newman, Apostle Of Grey Areas (who also worked for the poor on the quiet) (we all need to stretch those grey area cells more 😉 )

I also appreciate St Mary McKillop because she grasped in an instant what I didn’t in 20 years, and St Padre Pio because he knew the modern world . . .
 
Saint John Paul the Great as a modern day saint. Reading his whole life story and realizing just how many huge challenges he faced beginning in early childhood and continuing throughout his life, he is truly an inspiration to so many people. His faith was unshakeable. We are so fortunate to be able to know and understand just how much he suffered and how much he sacrificed to stay close to Christ and Our Lady.

St. Anthony tireless friend
St. Kateri Tekawitha patroness of those ridiculed for the faith and seeker of truth
St. Catherine of Alexandria: feisty little saint. 😉
 
St. Damien of Molokai: for putting his own sweat, blood, and life on the line in service to his flock in both their bodily as well as spiritual needs. The ultimate shepherd who “smelled like his sheep.”

St Peter, my namesake.
St Pope John Paul II, my confirmation saint (confirmed this morning :highprayer:)
St Padre Pio - I’m not sure if I believe all the stories about bi-location, but certainly an amazing priest
St Therese of Lisieux - I’m inspired by her simple humility and piety
Not yet a saint, but Blessed John Henry Newman, who as a convert from Anglicanism I can relate to. He went thorough a similar intellectual process to me.
St Thomas Aquinas, another religious intellectual I can relate to 🙂
St Francis of Assisi - simple, caring, inspiring, holy
And of course Mary, our mother in faith.
 
I would have to go with Saint Padre Pio. There is no doubt he was a Holy man in search of the truth.
 
Blessed Virgin Mary - Mother of the church
St. Raphael the Archangel - Travelling with and healing those in need (Book of Tobit)
St. Gabriel the Archangel - a chosen messenger of God
St. Michael the Archangel - Fighter and a protector of the church
St. John Paul II - He did a lot of good things as a pope
St. Maximilian Kolbe - He suffered and died in the Holocaust, never losing hope or faith.
 
Oh how could I forget St. Michael the Archangel, who I pray to for protection every night just before going to bed. A very powerful intercessor to be sure. :gopray2:
