Your opinion about my situation (Masterbation)

Okay Hello!
Okay so after spending a week searching up if masterbation is a sin, I have come to the conclusion that it is a Moral sin…I did not know this…I feel guilty now after figuring out this…I haven’t masterbated in a month…And I plan to not for the rest of my life. I go to mass every Sunday…I haven’t confessed about this because I feel embarrassed…I’m planning to when I got to the next retreat, which is in the summer…but when I was looking up if masterbation is a sin, I saw that if you get communion while having a moral sin, you go straight to hell…I don’t know what to do anymore…I need like…opinions…(I’m catholic) Um I’m a teen… not even 16 yet… If you guys what more information just ask and I can probably provide as much information as possible (I will try), but not my age because of privacy reasons… I just need help and guidance right now…
 
There isn’t really any need for opinions.

Go to confession, confess your sins, move on with your life and resolve not to sin again. And if you sin again, don’t lose hope, just go to confession. That’s really all there is to it.

There’s no reason to be embarrassed. While it’s a serious sin, it’s a VERY common sin. Priests are very used to hearing it. If you can’t make yourself say the word, you can say something like “I was impure with myself” and Father will know what you mean. If applicable, remember to also confess impure fantasies or images that may have been involved.
 
I used to go to confession very nervous and wanted to throw up from the nerves haha but really, the Priest in the confessional has heard every sin and sins far worse than yours. I would go to confession as soon as you can to give your mind peace 🙂

Lastly, it’s only a mortal sin if you fully consented and knew it was a sin. You wrote that you didn’t know it was a sin right? Then it’s not a mortal sin
