Dear RCIA team leader or team. Anyone who loves talking about our faith to others, serving Christ in this. I have a proposition, need your (name removed by moderator)ut. I was baptized catholic 11 years ago. I was inspired as an ex Mormon to create this site
www.utahmission.com
I have helped with the RCIA now for that 11 years, and I am on the Parish council in the service of Christ. I also help with monthly tours of our Church…this has been absolutely awesome. If you like to speak about our faith, such things as the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, Confession, the Crucifix etc… than listen up.
The Utah Mission, It’s a compilation of nuggets, treasures of the church that helped me with my own conversion to Christ. Yet it is not a site that speaks about any other faith accept our Catholic faith. It was set up to hit the heart.
It has done well here in Northern Utah, it has brought some to the RCIA, it has allowed many in this area to better understand the Catholic faith. It has helped our own Catholics as well. It has helped with our Church tours along with invitations to Mass.
Here is an example:
Last month we had a father from California write the Utah Mission, who has a daughter here in Utah, a troubled teen who is in an Academy for young girls. He wanted to know what time Mass was and directions. To make a long story short we met, he now has are RCIA director visiting his daughter. Things like that.
We have had souls come to the RCIA who are local because they spent time at the Utah Mission site and wanted to know more. This has led to baptisms
There was a soul who came to the site a few weeks ago who over a period of about a week asked several, really good questions about our faith. Yet he did not respond to them until last Friday. He was a 16 year old Mormon boy who had contemplated killing himself. But he has been looking into the Catholic faith for about a month. He is telling us about his restored faith and that he wants to attend a Mass. We did have to tell him that that might not be until he turns 18. That in the meantime he needs to love his mother and father in Christ. Recently he asked if he could pray the Rosary with out one.
This is a fantastic mission and I would like to know if others would like to do this as well?
I have spent 11 years gathering treasures for this site. I have gained permission one at a time for the writings you see. Would anyone out there like to have this for their Parish and take it on? It is not that time consuming at all. What it helps you become, your Parish, is just one more net for Christ. This is evangelization, the core of our faith. If you would like me to set this up for you please e-mail me at: utahmission@aol.com
My vision is that we have this little mission all over, offering hope, baptism, knowledge, directions to the closest Parish, RCIA direction, tours of our churches etc… so much more.
You will be able to take donations and make a % off of all book sells, gifts etc… through your praish and beyond. For your Paish and for the Mission. I would set this up for you, take nothing from it.
God Bless
