Is your priests pro-life and do you encourage them to be pro-life?

Steps to encourage your priest to be actively pro-life:
    • Give them a brochure called “Fathers, Lets Face our Fears about Abortion.” This can be acquired from Priests for Life.
    • When they speak up for life, praise them! They are affected by praise and criticism.
    • Request your priests become more involved in pro-life work by giving your priest a brochure “A Letter to My Priests” (available from Priests for Life).
    • Encourage the leaders at your church.
    • Arrange a meeting with yourself and a couple of well informed pro-life parishioners. Engage in a loving dialog in which each person tries to understand the other. Find out how you can help him.
    • Have realistic expectations…understand the limitations and workload of your priests.
    • Pray for your priests!

In fact, I arranged for one of its priests to come to my parish to talk…they only asked that we pay expenses and donote what we could afford. After I got it going, I contacted my pastor and got his buy in. I have arranged a busy agenda – meeting with bishop; meet with local politician; radio interview; an ecumenical service for women who have had an abortion, a miscarriage, or lost a child by any means; homilies at all masses; and a talk on Saturday evening. You might consider such an event for your parish or diocese.
