Dear Friends,
Only yesterday I had the following fruit from contemplation. I know I am taking a chance here as I have never actually published any of these. I receive many thoughts like these. I tend to spend some time on them and then I allow then to be forgotten. I don’t even write them down. I am recording this one only. Why? I do not know.
Maybe it is nothing more that the thoughts from my own mind I don’t know. I need you, my friends, to give it a look and let me know your feelings. If you have any additions you would like to add, please feel free. I probably will publish this along with any additions.

**A thought on the Cross **

The Cross…
An instrument of death, a symbol of life
An instrument of weakness, a symbol of strength
An instrument of pain, a symbol of healing
An instrument of finality, a symbol of new life
An instrument of fear, a symbol of courage
An instrument of shame, a symbol of pride
An instrument of punishment, a symbol of example
An instrument of condemnation, a symbol of forgivness
An instrument of rejection, a symbol of acceptance
An instrument of arrogance, a symbol of humility
An instrument of hate, a symbol of love
An instrument of murder, a symbol of sacrifice
An instrument of despair, a symbol of hope
An instrument of failure, a symbol of accomplishment.
An instrument of isolation, a symbol of community.
An instrument forced upon shoulders, a symbol lovingly embraced.
One man’s decision, another Man’s destiny

Hi, Fergal, It’s very good. Did you really want additions? Reflections like this are so personal.

Hi!
Thanks for your post! If an individual would like to share their own reflections I would have no problem at all. You know sometimes when you read something and you think “oh pity he did not include…” etc. I am very aware of how incomplete my own thoughts always are.
God Bless.

Ok. This line:

An instrument of hate, a symbol of love

made me think of:

An instrument of hate, an expression of love

Dear Fergal

No it’s perfect, don’t alter it, don’t touch it, it’s beautiful and it’s your gift from God, keep it that way.

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

Teresa

This is very good! Except for the title. 😃 What you wrote is the the kind of thing that should be written in calligraphy and framed on a wall. Nice job.

God Bless you for your kind comments.

I don’t know why this is the one I chose to share. I just hope it means something to someone. 🙂

I just got some news today and would ask your prayers please for my Godfather who has been moved to the Dublin Hospice. He is dying with cancer. Nothing we did not already know but now it is final even for him. May God give him the strength to accept all with the fervour and spirit of Our Blessed Lady’s ‘Fiat’.

Very thought provoking and inspirational thanks for taking the time to type it out to share with us.🙂 An instrument forced on shoulders lovingly embraced touched me even in the Passion how it was portrayed with Christ kissing the cross.
