As a member of the Catholic youth of America, I am surely not the only one who has been faced with the difficulty of defending my faith to others, whether it is teachers, peers, or strangers. I’ve noticed that many youth of today have little to no faith whatsoever, and are easily led astray from their faith.

As the youth is the next generation of Church, I think a huge focus of today’s evangelization should be towards the youth, educating them and showing them what the Church is all about and the love and stability it can provide in one’s life!

As a catholic youth myself, I’ve found my local youth group to be a HUGE factor in strengthening my faith and those around me. My friends and I have brought countless numbers of our peers to our weekly meetings and service projects, and our numbers have grown to an average number of 40-50 kids per meeting! Through leading by example, at teen masses, volunteering opportunities, service projects, and mission trips, we have evangelized and brought new members into the church with joy and love!

After our original evangelizing efforts, friends and I have decided to take it one step further with an issue dear to our hearts. The pro-life issue is one of huge importance in my community, and something we all care deeply about. We’ve decided to create a local pro-life youth event, welcome to anyone and everyone, to truly act as and be a voice for the voiceless. Our event is planning on hosting speakers with personal testimonies regarding abortion, such as abortion survivor stories, musicians, food trucks, and fun!

Comment below with your ideas on how to further prepare yourself to defend the faith, how you evangelize, and your thoughts and ideas at our newest evangelization project! If you’d like more information, just ask!

I read books! I have read four books so far this month! “An Introduction to the Devout Life” was my favorite so far. St. Frances de Sales is a genius!
As to evangelizing? Well, I go to a “non-denominational” school. And it’s not warmly welcome to Catholic just based on the theology everyone there holds. However, I’ve made strides this past school year by LIVING like a Catholic. A Catholic life is a very good - if not the best - testimony to non-Catholics. This “strategy” has brought at lead one person into the Church. It’s probably going to be another person.
Another method I’ve used is the “anti-Socratic” method along with the Socratic method. I allow others to use the Socratic method on me, because I know that it’s impossible to prove the Church wrong. I also use the Socratic method to gently let people know, their beliefs/arguments are absurd.
I think your idea is fantastic! Nothing can be better than the pro-life opinion from an unusual point of view, such as teenagers. Everyone pays attention to te adults because they can vote, but teens, being future adults, have an important opinion.

Thanks so much! Those are great ideas and opportunities!

Yes, I think living by example is the absolute best way to evangelize and let everyone know how Christianity helps you live life every day! 👍
