What are some great youth group ice breakers ? What are ways in which each and every teen at youth group can get more involved ? What should one do if certain teens don’t participate at youth group but instead just sit in one corner ?

Asking for a friend who is volunteering at youth group .

Tough questions, Izzy1.
Here’s a link to 10 ice-breakers for youth groups: https://youthgroupgames.com.au/top-ten-icebreaker-games/.

As far as the quiet one who sits in the corner - there can be many reasons for this ranging from the youth thinks the activity is “stupid” to the youth being a complete introvert. Try pairing people into small groups or making groups of 3 or 4 with each member responsible for part of an activity if the activity is conducive to that.

Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot , I’m sure I’ll find good icebreakers via that link .

The quiet kids mainly consist of them being forced to come because their parents wanted them to . Because of that they just sit in one corner and don’t speak at all or on the other hand they disrupt the session by keeping on talking to a close friend without caring that others are getting distributed

being forced to come
This is a difficult one to overcome. Typically, creating highly engaging activities that are interesting (a difficult task, no doubt) is one way to overcome this desire to not be there. Sometimes, I conversation with the youth can go a long way. Have your friend try to empathize with the youth and ask them what would make the activities more engaging. That sometimes works.

You are welcome. I am sure others will have some good advice as well! It’s early yet.
