Is there such a thing as mission-type trips for college aged kids that are Catholic? We would be really interested in any information regarding trips where they would go for a few weeks (Or longer.) and do some sort of charitable work, but also have the chance to meet fellow young Catholics. do you know about NET ministries and Catholic Christian Outreach? It depends where you live… (I live in Canada and these are the ones I’ve heard of that are pretty good)

Re: Catholic Youth Mission trips:

My daughter is on one right now through VOICA—I DO NOT recommend this group at all!!! Looks good on paper (or online)–but not completely faithful, just not good in many ways.

The Group Workcamps Foundation offers a great mission trip opportunity for high school and some college-age youth that focuses on home repair service for the elderly, low-income and disabled. It’s called the Micah Experience.

It’s focus is on “turning social teaching into social living.” Practical service, worship music, daily liturgy and youth group prayer all handled for you. Well organized and the organization has been around for over 30 years.

You can also call to find out more at 1.800.385.4545.

If anyone is interested in Mission trips for College aged adults - here’s one of the best (yes I’m biased)!

FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students is a national campus outreach ministry for college students. It’s geared to their schedule and where they are in life.

Check it out - but be forewarned, if you go on a trip - it will change your life forever.
