(lol) I don’t think it comes from Canada - ( though we definitely have no shortage of different stuff up here ) , this one isn’t home-grown.
Couldn’t seem to find much more using a search engine.
The video itself could probably come from anywhere. . . but if I were forced to guess on the narrator’s origin, my own limited opinion would lean more towards a European country such as Belgium (or perhaps a little more north). Although Gustave Flaubert - the author of Madame Bovary was a native of northern France, the French (of France) tend to be much more meticulous in their pronunciation of English than the narrator was (and that is definitely not a French Canadian accent).
But, rather than worrying about the origin of the video, there is surely a much more important point to consider , after briefly reviewing the video’s content.
Regarding the actual content : I found nothing wrong with the video. It is addressing the reality of a western society which is increasingly becoming more effeminate (some will argue inordinately so).
The nocent problem lies in the heading given to the video by the person who posted it on YouTube. The video’s real title is "One Day in the Life of Julia’s Son."
The Youtube poster decided to entitle his contribution “The story of why young black men are in trouble” . . . yet ,** the video itself makes no mention of color or race**. This is further confirmed in the opening commentary :
But the Youtube poster called it ,“The story of why young black men are in trouble.”
Subsequently it would appear, judging from the title of this thread , that the OP has also been *fooled to some extent ; since this CAF thread is entitled YouTube video concerning masculinity and African Americans. In fact no African Americans nor any Americans at all are mentioned in this video . . . only “an ordinary little boy, ordinary product of modern western society.”
I’m kind of hoping the moderators might consider leaving this thread up because it is a very good working model of how* prevarication* works - whether inadvertently or not.
(* I was fooled too - I had to watch the video 3 times before I understood it had nothing at all to do with race).
As an afterthought : If we can be so easily misled by a few carefully, umm, misplaced/displaced words , imagine how easily the devil can fool us . . .
