Hello,
I downloaded the youversion app called Bible. It is a great app which already has many threads on catholic.com.

So I am looking for a Spanish version which would be OK for us Catholics. I tried counting how many books each version has and I came to the conclusion that none of the translations offered are Catholic. So I want to know if there is a version that is “accepted”. I would prefer to stay away from the translations with 66 books since those are protestant.

If anyone knows of a simplified English version (not my first language, you can tell right? 😛 ) that would work too!

Translations Available:
RVR60 - Reina Valera 1960 - 66 books
DHH - Dios Habla Hoy Con Deuterocanonicos - 78 books
BHTI - La biblia hispanoamericana - 76 books
LBLA - La Biblia de las Américas - 66 books
BLPH - La Palabra (version hispanoamericana) - 66 books
NBLH - Nueva Biblia Latinoamericana de ?? (cant’ see end) - 66 books
NTV - Nueva Traducción Viviente - 66 books
NVI - Nueva Versión Internacional - 66 books
RVR95 - Reina Valera 1995 - 66 books
RVC - Reina Valera Contemporánea - 66 books
RVES - Reina Valeria Antigua - 66 books
WBES - Spanish NT - 27 books
TLA - Traducción En Lenguaje Actual - 78 books
TLAD - Traducción En Lenguaje Actual - 78 books

Spain Versions
DHHE Dios Habla Hoy - 66 books
BTI-ESES La Biblia, Traduccion interconf - 76 books
BLP - ESES La Palabra (Version Española) - 66 books

You should pick one that has atleast 73 books in it as it will have the complete Catholic Canon of the Bible. 78 is the Orthodox number it would be wise to look into each translation as I am not familiar with the Spanish and other languages I can’t recommend one.
