I bought a Rosary in March, but since the priests were busy I put holy water on it while doing the cross sign three times and I said: “I bless you in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit”. Now, since shortly afterwards the Covid-19 lockdown came, and the churches closed. In my country churches are open but I think they are only officiating masses, and maybe confession, but not blessings. ¿Was my blessing valid? ¿Did I do a heresy or something like that? ¿Should I have waited for the priest? Pease, I have had this question for a while.
God bless you.

Lay people cannot bless objects. Please bring your rosary to your priest to bless.

You can probably just walk up to a priest after Mass or Confession and say, “Excuse me, Father, could you bless my rosary?” It will just take him a moment.
