I have to find that podcast and share it here. It actually gave me goosebumps just by the thought of it. Especially when he mentioned the eagle as the symbol of the United States. That is, in the Byzantine Empire and the empires that succeeded it (like Russia), the symbol was the two-headed eagle symbolizing equal authority of Church and State over the empire. But in the US the eagle has one head, and he said it symbolizes that the State is the Church, that the religion is being American.I had never heard of that man or that plan. I also seemed to have missed the thread’s point entirely in my previous post.
That being said, Constantine mentioned an analysis where historical figures are essentially diefied. I would imagine this is easily extended to the founding fathers too. I always have a hard time looking at “The Apotheosis of George Washington” for these reasons. That is still a bit of a tangent.
