I had never heard of that man or that plan. I also seemed to have missed the thread’s point entirely in my previous post.

That being said, Constantine mentioned an analysis where historical figures are essentially diefied. I would imagine this is easily extended to the founding fathers too. I always have a hard time looking at “The Apotheosis of George Washington” for these reasons. That is still a bit of a tangent.

And to respond to Lormar… Can’t say I’m surprised it was New York 😛
I have to find that podcast and share it here. It actually gave me goosebumps just by the thought of it. Especially when he mentioned the eagle as the symbol of the United States. That is, in the Byzantine Empire and the empires that succeeded it (like Russia), the symbol was the two-headed eagle symbolizing equal authority of Church and State over the empire. But in the US the eagle has one head, and he said it symbolizes that the State is the Church, that the religion is being American.

Please find the link, i would be most interested to listen. I do think that Statism is used, especially be the secularists, to replace the Church. And statism always ends in disaster. There have been several treatises written along these lines that the State must become the end-all for the people. I find it to be another form of idolotry. Replacing the Authority of God with the State. Religious Liberty leads to this i believe, in as much as making all religions equal, and the State equal with all religions, blurs the line between God and Natural Law on one side and the State and it’s laws on the other. Numerous Popes have written to show that seperation of the State from the Church will lead to this end. There can be only one Law, God’s. And there can be only one Truth, Jesus Christ. Any other is from satan.
