All human beings are created good, but are fallen. That’s basic catholic teaching. The ways in which we are fallen certainly differ, but we all have plenty of fallen characteristics.
Where moral / cultural problems arise is when people confuse which characteristics are part of the inherent goodness of humanity and which characteristics are manifestations of our fallenness. When people call the fallenness good, we have a problem.
We likewise have a problem when people single out one fallen characteristic of a human person and use it to conclude that the entire person is evil. As catholics, we need to very quickly mature our catholic culture to the point where we treat homosexuality like we do alcoholism: stop the recriminations, the scapegoating and the alienation. Start supporting and affirming those who recognize their struggle for what it is and applaud their courage and tenacity in working to live out their faith. Lving chastely with a SSA is, no doubt, brutally hard. So is living sober for a recovering alcoholic. But it can be done. Instead of heaping shame on all with the inclination, lets heap support and admiration on those who’ve dared to defy it.
