I had to post this, we had a priest who was previously at a parish in one of the US’s largest cities. He said they had organized-crime types there and they did not want to accept their donations during the collections. I think that is all he said, I’m not aware if they could actually turn the money back once it was in the collections but he told us about it. Maybe they would say that from the pulpit.
