“The Communion of Saints” – Please help me define this phrase.
I once heard a talk from a late (excellent) Catholic Priest, Fr. Luke Zimmer. He stated that the good Angels were part of “The Communion of Saints”.
I am doing a personal review on the subject of “The Communion of Saints” and enjoy reading from apologists’ perspectives. But Catholic apologists seem to begin by assuming we know and accept the definition of “The Communion of Saints” (I do, but someone I may be discussing this subject with in the future may not – and I want to be prepared).
I would like to better define the term for my own purposes.
I am sure Fr. Zimmer was correct, but I would like some Biblical sources and extra-Biblical Catholic Church Document and/or Catechetical sources to footnote the definition of “The Communion of Saints”.
