“Safety” is the new buzzword of the homosexual activists who are looking to indoctrinate the children in our public schools. They want homosexual children (my Lord, is that even a possibility? How young are we talking about?) to feel “safe”. Watch out for this word. It is the driving force now behind all this legislation being proposed.

I am guessing he is not promoting the beating of children or bullying or anything like that. It is just as the poster above suggested that “safety” will be a trojan horse if you will, a false pretense by which to justify legislation. What I fear is that eventually a priest or preacher at the pulpit who speaks about morality will be accused of incitement in some bogus manner and will be muzzled by the law (if not prosecuted for speech).

This “hate crime” legislation is really silly, even if it goes no further than it currently has. If I, a white heterosexual male get beaten half to death and the perpetrator turns around and beats a homosexual standing next to me half to death, have I had less of a crime committed against me? It’s just a silly pretense for a serious subject, in my opinion…

I agree hate crime legislation is silly. But, do you realize Catholics have been covered by federal hate crime legislation since 1968? If you are beaten half to death, and the perp turns around and beats the athiest standing next to you, has the athiest had less of a crime committed against him?

We should note that in all cases the prosecustion must demonstrate the motivation for the assault was the victim’s membership in a covered group.

Can we count on you to oppose the existing federal hate crime legislation that makes it a more serious crime to assault a Catholic than an athiest? It’s never too early to put those credentials to work. Too many students today eschew working for justice.

Yep and they have a religion that they want seen, not just as an accepted one within society, no, they want society to see them as superior to traditional heterosexual marriages. And society is ever increasing in its acceptance of this type of lifestyle; apathetic mostly. We Christians need to hold our ground against these groups, resist their ways and pray against their immoral acts. To many Christians are like the people in Laodicea who weren’t hot nor cold but lukewarm and look what God said He would do with them…

Well, you equated religion with homosexuality. I realize a good chunk of the clergy are gay, but does that imply religion is homosxuality? I think that is unfair and you should curb further slanderous accusations. Shame.

No. I deride those who say it is a danger to preachers reading the bible in front of their congregation.
