18 USC Section 245 as amended…
Thank You.
I realize Thompson killed himself and I admire a man with convictions. For anyone who wants an introduction to Thompson, I recommend Fear and Loathing In LasVegas.
I wouldn’t recommended that book to anyone under 50. I read it when it came out when I was 16, it was the second book of his I read and not his last. I have a hard time admire someone who takes thier life after they spend their life corrupting two going on three genreations of youth, then taking the coward’s way out.

Do it while it’s cool and when it doesn’t feel good anymore, Bang! What a lesson to teach. Culture of death lives on!

Thanks again for the reference to 18 USC Section 245. It is very helpful

No. I deride those who say it is a danger to preachers reading the bible in front of their congregation.

I also deride those who fail to recognize that serious bodily harm is the base crime without which the hatred provisions have no application.
Well, I must agree with at least one thing. There is a lot of derision in your posts.

Dan

I agree I have wisdom, magnanimity, courage, and humility. I’m glad sharing my wisdom with you has nudged you to the correct path. Where had you been headed?
Prior to my reversion, on a path similar to yours. I think that road has a name. Maybe it starts with P? In any case, I used to think the Church was loony, too. 1 Cor 1:18-31.

So thank you for nudging me back to the wisdom of Holy Mother Church, in as much as you have done so.

Maybe you might start talking to people rather than *at *them? It would manifest your self-proclaimed -]hubris/-] humility.
Family of four? Wonderful. Any kids?
Yup. Two so far. You?
Well, you equated religion with homosexuality. I realize a good chunk of the clergy are gay, but does that imply religion is homosxuality? I think that is unfair and you should curb further slanderous accusations. Shame.
Still blame-shifting and trying to distract from your equivocation? Lol. I’m pretty sure everyone can see what you’re up to.

It’s not uncommon for people to view their sexuality as a religion. I’m not really surprised you conflate the two in your analysis.
Swap credentials? Wonderful. Go for it.
After you, I insist.
I talk about what you do because I had the insight and wisdom to discern what you do. It was obvious. Wisdom has its uses.
If you were that wise, you might have checked my profile. It’s not exactly a secret.

Regardless, it’s still impolite to discuss what I do without extending the courtesy of saying what you do.

So…what do you do for a living?
Best wishes to you and the family.
Thank you. Same to you and yours.
Ain’t this a great country?
There are many great things about it, and I feel quite at home here.

God Bless,

If you look at 18 USC 245 note it is limited to federally protected activities like voting and attending school. The pending legislation sponsored by Franks lacks that limitation and that’s a reason for a great deal of opposition. I suspect a veto will be justified on the basis of unwarranted intrusion of a state’s authority.

  1. You’re welcome. Glad to help.
  2. Two kids? Wonderful.
  3. You’re the one who shamefully equated religion and homosxuality. Religion certainly does have a large gay component among the clergy, but is that a basis for blanket equating of religion and homosexuality? Has it always been that way? Will it always be that way? Please examine your reasons for such rash statements. You might hurt someone’s feelings.
  4. First you challenge me for credentials. I say OK. Then you eschew presentation of your own? Are you religious?
  5. I never look at anything on this site beyond what people write in comments. Do you think I should? Are your credentials in your profile?
  6. I share my wisdom and people pay me for that. I gave you valuable tips for free. Feel proud. Keep coming back and I will bestow even more.

Thank you. Have you been so blessed?
You’re the one who shamefully equated religion and homosxuality.

Blame-shift. How are you defining “large”, anyway? 1%? 3%? If it’s “certainly” the case, you should be able to give a “certain” answer.
  1. First you challenge me for credentials. I say OK. Then you eschew presentation of your own?
Two national service defense medals, for starters. That’s a good-faith gesture, on which I’ll elaborate after you return in kind.
Are you religious?
Um…obviously? What does that have to do with anything?
  1. I never look at anything on this site beyond what people write in comments. Do you think I should? Are your credentials in your profile?
No, my “occupation” is there. Law student. It doesn’t take a whole lot of wisdom to figure out that enigma shrouded in mystery…
  1. I share my wisdom and people pay me for that.
Through what medium?
I gave you valuable tips for free.
I’m -]under/-]overwhelmed.
Feel proud.
Is that a command?
Keep coming back and I will bestow even more.
Promise?
Ain’t this a great country?
Do you think it’s not?

So, you now doubt the gays in the clergy? Well, then, why did you equate religion and homosexuality? That makes me wonder if your accusation was in good faith. If you doubt gays are well represented in the clergy’s ranks, then why do you accuse religion of being homosxual?

A National Service Defense medal. Is that the one everyone who joins the military gets upon enlistement? It’s the red ribbon with the gold in the middle? The Marines used to call it the “Fire Watch Ribbon” because all you had to do was sit up at night and watch the fire to get it. But, they are a crude and sometimes rude lot, so don’t let them rain on your parade. I applaud your medal.

Why is it obvious you are religious?

You are in law school? Are you sure? A few days ago you told me I was annoying you. Not even new June associates say stuff like that. What law school do you attend? It isn’t working. Might I recommend against a career in litigation?

Here’s some more wisdom for free. Don’t send up a brief with crossed out words. Opposing counsel will have a field day when he stops laughing.

Sorry I didn’t expand a bit about pride. I was simply letting you know that my high priced services have great value and my selection of you as beneficiary should make you burst with pride. Why, even that tip about crossed out words in briefs is priceless. And it’s vital you don’t let a partner see such sloppy work.

I do promise to continue mentoring you if you come back. See above where I provided a tip on crossed out words.

Ain’t this a great country!

A National Service Defense medal.
Two, actually.
Is that the one everyone who joins the military gets upon enlistement?
Only if it’s during times of conflict. Plenty of folks joined after me who didn’t get one. Since I was in during the last two, I was awarded two.
It’s the red ribbon with the gold in the middle?
Yup.
The Marines used to call it the “Fire Watch Ribbon” because all you had to do was sit up at night and watch the fire to get it.
I used to call it “the pizza stain”, because that’s what it looks like.

And that’s not why it’s called the “Fire Watch Ribbon”. That’s just plain wrong, and frankly laughably ignorant of you to say. That seems to be a bit of a habit for you.
But, they are a crude and sometimes rude lot, so don’t let them rain on your parade.
Why would they rain on my parade? I’ve known plenty of Marines. Trained with them several times.

Were you a Marine? I’m guessing no, since you speak of them in the third person.
I applaud your medal.
Two, actually. And that one is towards the bottom of my rack.

What have you done?
You are in law school? Are you sure?
Well, not at the moment. Right now I’m sitting on my couch. I’m still enrolled, though, if that’s what you mean.
A few days ago you told me I was annoying you.
You still do. 🙂 Asinine responses about accusations I never made and all.
Not even new June associates say stuff like that.
Apparently that’s not true of all. 🙂
What law school do you attend?
Still not wise enough to check my profile? Very disappointing.
It isn’t working.
I appreciate that. It means a lot coming from you.
Might I recommend against a career in litigation?
You can recommend whatever you please.
I do promise to continue mentoring you if you come back.
Mentoring? Is that what this is called?
Ain’t this a great country!
Again, what have you done for it?

Well, although you have a Firewatch Ribbon, it’s hardly a credential. It simply means someone was in the military. It doesn’t indicate any accomplishment. If it really did matter, you wouldn’t call it a pizza stain. But you tell us you have more medals? Wonderful. Can you tell us about them?

And can you tell us why the Marines call it a Firewatch Ribbon?

Of course I am mentoring you. Just look how your posts have changed since our first encounter. I set you on the path towards success in your finals, and I showed you how the legal profession looks down on crossed out words. I even warned you about emotional outbursts. You acknowledge how much you appreciate my advice about law school. And I introduced you to Hunter S. Thompson. It’s a burden, but one which I take up gladly. It’s how I give back.

But what about homosexual religion? Do you still think religion is homosexuality? I concede there are gays in the clergy, but is that sufficient to make such an accusation? I consider it my personal mission to convince you to eschew the error of your ways. You are insulting religion, and indirectly insulting religious adherents of many religions all over the world. Harsh. Very harsh.

Now, I will have to concede that some new June associates do wear their emotions on their sleeve. But they rarely become July associates.

One more thing. How is it obvious you are religious?

Ain’t this a great country!

Two, actually.
Only if it’s during times of conflict. Plenty of folks joined after me who didn’t get one. Since I was in during the last two, I was awarded two.
Ryan, I personally thank you for your sacrifices to this country. I am one that appreciates them. As for GreenJeans, you have helped other forum readers by leading GreenJeans to expose him/herself for who they really are. You’ve probably perused GreenJeans posts in other threads. The pattern is repeats itself. Perhaps if we ignore it, it will go away.

That is great work. And I hope he has read as much of my material as he can. It’ really quite good. So, who is Greenjeans? What was exposed?

Ryan, I personally thank you for your sacrifices to this country. I am one that appreciates them.
Thank you very much. It was a decade well spent, and I’m glad I could do my part.
Perhaps if we ignore it, it will go away.
I’m fairly dubious. From what I’ve read, Narcissists can’t stand not to be addressed, and will only increase the volume if you ignore them.

The Marines used to call it the “Fire Watch Ribbon” because all you had to do was sit up at night and watch the fire to get it.
Spoken like someone who never stood fire watch.

Tell you what. Since you’ve obviously never been in, go rent the movie Full Metal Jacket. The scene at the end of boot camp has the main character standing fire watch. You tell me if there’s a camp fire to be seen.
Well, although you have a Firewatch Ribbon, it’s hardly a credential.
It’s interesting to see you demean it a few short hours after you “applauded” me for it.

Telling.

And again, I received two. Plural. I would hope someone as wise as you would know the difference between singular and plural tenses.
It simply means someone was in the military. It doesn’t indicate any accomplishment.
Wrong again. There are many people who were in the military who never received one.

And are you saying that serving with distinction is not an accomplishment? So much for supporting the troops.

How about you go to Arlington and start peddling your tripe there?
But you tell us you have more medals? Wonderful. Can you tell us about them?
So you can belittle and demean them as well? Fat chance.
And can you tell us why the Marines call it a Firewatch Ribbon?
Yup, I certainly could.
But what about homosexual religion?
For many homosexuals, their sexuality is a religion. You’ve shown as much in your “defense”, and I fully agree with you.
Now, I will have to concede that some new June associates do wear their emotions on their sleeve. But they rarely become July associates.
How do you know?
Ain’t this a great country!
I’ve given you some of my credentials. What were yours again?
