Why do I feel like God is no longer watching over me?

I haven’t stopped praying, I haven’t stopped praying the rosary, I haven’t stopped reading my Bible, or going to Mass, nor have I stopped going to RCIA, nor have I quit going to Bible study…

…and yet I feel like Jesus is a million miles away.

I personally have gone through this many times myself and I think its Jesus showing us that Spirituality is truly a gift. Hang in there because your relationship with God and Jesus will be stronger when you get through it! God bless you!

Sometimes God hides Himself from our awareness to strengthen our faith.

Sometimes because He is so emmense and we are so small, we cannot see Him.

Sometimes He is building up our courage for future temptations.

Sometimes He waiting for us to talk to Him as a friend.

Just be confident that whatever He is teaching you is in accordance with His Will and for your own good.

What you are experiencing is called “spiritual dryness.” All the great Saints had this experience, so you are in good company.

When we can’t feel God’s presence it is a time when God wants us to do two things: Seek for him with all our hearts, like the bride in the Song of Solomon. And, offer up to him our prayers and praises without the benefit of getting anything sensible (feelings) out of it.

This is a sacrifice we make to God that is more pleasing to him than all our praises when we feel him near because it is offered in faith alone instead of through our senses, and because it costs us something to do it, as it cost Jesus something to suffer for us.
