Forgive me for quoting from the NIV, it’s the translation I “cut my teeth on” so to speak, so I use it the most. Anyway, I was wondering about this verse:
I hear, repeated again and again that we are not to judge. And this verse totally backs that up! We are not to judge those outside the church because that is for God to do. Although I am wondering how to take that in context with Revelation 20:4

I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.
(verse numbers removed)What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked man from among you.”
I hear, repeated again and again that we are not to judge. And this verse totally backs that up! We are not to judge those outside the church because that is for God to do. Although I am wondering how to take that in context with Revelation 20:4
and 1 Corinthians 6:1I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge.
These selections seem to say that at the appointed time, those of “us” who are with God in heaven will be judges of the world. So should I take from this that we are NOT to judge the non-believer, but also make sure that the believers with us are pure? It seems to me that with this verse, Paul is telling us to judge and expel the non-believer, then no longer make his business our concern since it is then GOD who judges him. I dunno, I have been puzzling over these verses for months, especially when it comes to the abortion and homosexual rights debates. If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints? Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases?
