What does St Paul mean by “I have no commandment from the Lord”?

Does it mean he had private revelations/messages from Jesus?

He’s making it clear that he is giving his own advice on marriage rather than an official teaching of Christ.

Thanks for that, I was actually more interested in St Paul’s meaning of receiving commandments from the Lord. Is this evidence that St Paul had private revelations from Jesus?

It would seem so…after all, his very conversion was a private revelation…after that, off the top of my head I recall a few times in which s. Paul writes that the Spirit directed them in a way or another. He also mentions that on one occasion He was caught up to paradise and heard things that he was not permitted to tell. That is definitely a private revelation. These are not so uncommon with saints that were very united to Christ, even more with those who were His first apostles in a time when the Holy Spirit granted many special gifts for the development of the early Church.
