My only copy of the Douay Rheims is almost 150 yrs old and if I tried to open it, it would probably fall apart. Your link (or whatever they call them) to the DR verses did not work. If you could post the verses i would like to compare them.
 
Google it as “Johannine comma.” You’ll get an education! Tell us what you find.

The textual base for the two translations is different:​

The NAB is working from Greek, in which the reading quoted is known from only a couple of very late manuscripts, of no outstanding value as witnesses to the NT text;

The DR is based on the Clementine Vulgate of 1592, which was working with a text which had been influenced by that reading, which is first found AFAIK in Latin.

So they supply different readings of 1 John 5.7 ##

Hi it seems that they have done away with that verse in the New translation, it was not in the original manuscripts.Would you believe it, all these years people took that verse as the pillar that the Trinity stands on only to find it was not in the original Manuscripts.
